What this study is about

This trial is testing if metformin can help prevent post-traumatic osteoarthritis (PTOA) after an ACL tear. It compares metformin to a placebo, which looks like metformin but has no active ingredient. Metformin is used to treat type II diabetes and also has anti-inflammatory properties.
